Yomo is now working at Anteiku. Yomo gets flustered and tries to clean up the broken cup.
Yoshimura: …Ah. It’s fine, Yomo-kun. Yomo: …I. I always give you trouble… Yomo: I’m not as sociable as Koma and I’m not as skilled as Irimi… Yomo: Yoshimura-san… I’m sorry. I’m not fit for this shop.
Yoshimura gently shakes his head.
Yoshimura: …Your coffee is good. Yomo: … Yoshimura: …Are you worried about the siblings?
Yomo sits down on a table and continues talking.
Yomo: …They resemble my sister…
Yomo talks about his sister and how Kirishima was targetted by the ‘Doves’ since he was trying to become stronger in order to protect the children. A picture of Arata in kakuja form is shown.
Yoshimura: …“Protecting someone” is a very difficult thing to do. No matter how strong one’s feelings are… Yoshimura: There are times where the things you think that are right, end up backfiring, just like for Arata-kun.
Yomo: …Yoshimura-san. Are you going to hire Touka? Yomo: I want to let her live quietly in a world of peaceful people rather than in the world of Ghouls covered in blood.
Yoshimura: …How about if you volunteer them? Yoshimura: You are their uncle after all, right? Yoshimura: I wish to embrace my daughter with these hands once again. Yoshimura: …If only V weren’t following her…
Yomo: …I’m not confident that I can guide someone else… but I will do my best to watch them from far away.
Arima fires another attack to Yomo who’s crouching on the floor. Ayato jumps out to help intercept the attack.
Ayato: Don’t go crouching on the floor now, old man!!
Touka follows up with an attack using her ukaku projectiles, Arima dodges them and attacks Ayato and Touka.
Ayato: Ugh…! Yomo: !
And in a matter of seconds, Ayato and Touka are defeated. Blood continues to drip from Yomo’s mask.
Yomo: (You’re going to take everything from me, aren’t you…?) Yomo: (…Arima.) Yomo: (My sister… My hope…)
…
Yomo: (‘Hope’…?) Yomo: (That’s right…) Yomo: (In this world where you can only lose something, you’re only hope is “to be connected.”) Yomo: (Letting the planted seeds bloom.) Yomo: (…And the flowers drop their seeds.)
Yomo: (When someone drinks the coffee you made and it makes them happy and they say it’s delicious.)
Yomo: (And thru those two who I am connected with by blood…) Yomo: (…I can meet my sister again.)
Aaa ok it makes me kinda sad that people think Kaneki getting slapped by one of the people he loves most is funny and he deserved it???? Hinami was one of the only people who had never hurt him until now.
do I understand where Hinami was coming from? Yes. Do I think her actions are right? No.
People don’t seem to be taking into consideration that until now, Kaneki really couldn’t save Hinami. He wasn’t ignoring her. He wasn’t ditching her. There just was simply not a way he could even remotely expect to get her out of Cocleah *alive* until now.
I don’t think it’s funny nor that Kaneki deserved it, but it’s a very understandable reaction. Often when people are angry beyond words or when the situation is so taxing that they can’t find the right words to describe how they’re feeling, they let their fists speak for them – or in this case their palms. Hinami is a teenager filled with raging hormones, she’s lost both her parents, She lost her home twice, and she lost the one person whom she thought she could rely on due to the latters selfish reasons. She left Banjou & CO and joined Aogiri to become strong, to be able to protect the people she cared about (just like her oniichan wanted to be able to do). Only for him, in the hour of her need, (Hina VS Taki) tell her that he’s not her oniichan and imprison her in cochlea.
We know that Kaneki was currently Haise, didn’t have his memories, yet he defended her against Takizawa. BUT… Hinami’s slap is understandable.
