Step 1: Build up an antagonist since part 1, have her be your first natural one eyed ghoul in story, hype her up for future.
Step 2: Focus first half of story of sequel on her, give her development, plot for her character and purpose. Put effort into her character overall.
Step 3: Shit on her by off-screening her to hype up whole new antagonist (one for which this hype up was completely unnecessary in end considering his own treatment).
Step 4: Leave her fate be completely ambiguous for over 2 years.
Step 5: Bring her back by completely shitting on her some more. Completely humiliate your ex-main antagonist by making her into headless puppet for organization she despised (because “karma”). After more then 2 years of wait for some information about her fate. This is one you get. By the way … her return gets overshadowed by Naki. Yes. He is alive too. After that amazing send off he had – he got back too. Because death is just temporary illness like flu, which is very good to know.
Step 6: Oh well, at least she was brought back to deal with Kaiko, man because of who her entire life was they way it was. That’s a good thing at least … right? At least she will get something in end of it … right? At least she was brought back in that moment for at least some “reason” … right? …Ah yes…
Step 7: Give Hirako the honor of dealing final blow to that said man instead of her. Have her sleep/ or be dead again instead. In both cases, it is comedy gold.
And lets not even go into how Rize was treated trough out entire series, because, oooo boi…
