^^lmao

also?? English speakers speak only english around people that dont speak English at all and expect them to understand which is exactly what theyre complaining about so this is some racist BS and nobody cares

I’m bilingual. I work in a store now that’s mostly Latinx and also bilingual, but my first store had one of those White Girls (you know the kind–in love with Mike Huckabee, wants to abolish affirmative action, blamed every non-white person on staff for her own mistakes, thought immigrants–even legal immigrants–shouldn’t be allowed jobs) who used to get SO MAD when I’d take orders in Spanish because “I bet they’re saying mean things about me and it’s not fair they won’t do it to my face, they’re cowards.”

I don’t know how one gets “mean things” out of “dos tacos con tomates, una tostada y un Pepsi grande,” but she did, so I decided to make her wishes come true, and every time she’d get mad at Spanish speaking customers I’d tell them she was a puta ruda (rude bitch). Then I told her it meant beautiful American.

Best revenge: listening to her proudly tell Spanish-speaking customers “I’m a puta ruda!”

Okay. This story wins.
