i’m reading seneca’s medea right now and honestly his medea is the most iconic character i’ve ever seen. she’s working on a plan to get back at her piece of shit husband jason for leaving her and she’s like “hm should i slaughter some people and destroy some stuff…nah i did that stuff when i was a little girl, i’m a wife and mother now so it’s time to bring in the big guns and make heaven itself tremble at me” like when will your girl ever

other extremely iconic moments from seneca’s medea:

• the time medea’s nurse is pleading with her not to go on a rampage and she’s like “medea…” and medea’s all “Bitch You Bet Your Ass I’ll Be Medea When I’m Done Here”
• the time medea’s nurse tells medea that she has nothing left and medea’s like “i’m left and i am full of holy fury”
• the time king creon, as he’s exiling medea, tells her that she has to obey the king’s orders whether they’re just or unjust and she just responds with “unjust kingdoms never last”
• the end of the play where jason tells medea that there are no gods where she’s going and she flies off in her chariot pulled by dragons because she Does Not Give A Single Fuck
