men in greek mythology? scoundrels. just terrible. woeful social skills. murderers. kidnappers. violent misogynists. most of them… never described as handsome so we have to assume they were ugly.
narcissus? unproblematic. beacon of transformative self love. king of the swerve. gay icon. couldn’t recognize his reflection but neither can my dog, we aren’t holding that against him.

I refuse to believe Narcissus could read.
i’ve been thinking about this response for the better part of 2 hours and it hasn’t gotten less hysterically funny to me
I unironically endorse the OP. Narcissus did nothing wrong.
As far as I can recall, his one “crime” was rejecting a nymph’s romantic advances and dodging her when she tried to hug him without permission.
He did nothing but assert his rights and boundaries. People should not be obligated to date someone if they don’t want to, and they don’t owe hugs to anyone. Narcissus has a right to bodily autonomy too.
But then one of the gods decided to punish him anyway, because the gods are jerks and ruin everything.
This. If the genders were reversed and this was a satyr lusting over the gender swapped version of Narcissus and asked a God to curse this poor cinnamon roll to look at her own reflection until she died, we’d be swift to shout sexual harassment and mind rape. Creepy is creepy no matter the gender. If you feel creeped out, it doesn’t matter if it’s she on he, he on she, he on he, she on she, they on he, they on she, they on they, she on they, he on they. And believe the person, don’t ask what they did to deserve it. It’s the same ridiculous stuff we put victims of abuse and bullying through. We go maybe you shouldn’t… insert stupid shit here. Well maybe they shouldn’t be horrible people.
This is why I feel sorry for this cinnamon roll character and always use them when I play Persona 4.
