I’m here for the girls who unwillingly consented to sex or sexual acts because they were in a situation where they didn’t feel as if they had the right to say no and now feel violated but don’t feel like they can say they were raped or molested.

SAY IT AGAIN FOR THE ONES IN THE BACK

Although I’m in support of valid feelings and not violating anyone, your post specifies they gave consent to whatever activity they were involved in and in a legal sense its quite clear cut. Please people learn to say no. Say no, to avoid shitty outcomes. Say no when you mean no, noone is going to be there for you 24/7 so please learn to stick up for yourselves

Yeah – you can absolutely fuck off @getmotivateddarkly

Hi, @getmotivateddarkly ! OP here.

Your unnecessary, harmful, invalidating argument is the entire reason I made this post! Congratulations for literally highlighting my point!

This post is about something called consent under duress, where the victim feels as if something bad will happen if they were to say no and the abuser takes advantage of their position of power. This could be that they have been incredibly forceful in the past and take advantage of her fear of being physically restrained and raped. It could also be that  the abuser has control of their victim financially or otherwise and they fear simply for their safety and way of life(like having a place to live, way to feed themselves, etc). It can also apply to mothers who appease an abusive husband because they are trying to protect themselves or their children.

So, to the girls who “need to stick up for themselves” because “nobody will be there for you 24/7,” to the literal thousands of girls in the notes who told their stories in the tags, to every one of you who felt somewhat validated by seeing this post, I am telling you that I will be there for you. I will believe you.

Also, thank you @radfemtori, for summing up my feelings on this in one simple statement.

You’re welcome. I hate rape apologists.
