I’m re-reading the chapter where Akira first meets the 20th Ward team… and I can’t stop laughing at Suzuya’s reaction to seeing her.

And then his reactions to her detailed speculation on the Gourmet case (which, by the way, was just so well-thought-out and correct).

He did these adorable reactions during Shinohara and Chigyou’s lectures to him as well, from Volumes 6 and 9 respectively:

Someone save this boy he is not good at academics

Actually Juuzou is shockingly good at academics! After all, he learned 3 years worth of academy training in less than 6 months completely from books and passed his examination on said material despite having almost no formal education at all.

Consider the fact that Juuzou was put in the position of agent strictly on the basis of his physical ability, regardless of his mental trauma and complete lack of mental and physical training. Juuzou’s entire education came from his fellow agents (mainly Shinohara) and books, and yet he not only managed to pass his exams, but he also climbed the ranks faster than any other agent aside from Arima who isn’t even fully human.

tl;dr Juuzou is actually a genius in canon but his adorable reactions are still adorable ;-;
