This could work! I guess Ishida would be squishing the two arm functions into one arm (since the right arm had the whip and the left the shield), but I was wondering what the purpose of his shovel arm was

I’m kind of surprised Ayato doesn’t seem to hold a grudge against Kaneki. He really has matured a lot. Also, he knows how much Touka cares for Kaneki and is actually worried.

And Touka … Touka knows Kaneki well.

This quote is by Herman Hesse from his novel Demian. Ishida quoted it in chapter 8 when Kaneki unleashes his kagune for the first time against Nishiki. I was super excited because Demian was one of the few required readings from high school that I had really enjoyed! There are actually a lot of parallels between the journeys of the protags of these two stories which was really fun to see.
