LOL I think Ishida-sensei may be stress-eating donuts ^o^[x]
I spoke to a friend of mine who reads Japanese and apparently “high tension” is more like “excitement” than “stress”. I’m honestly relieved to learn that and it’s still adorable just in a different way XD. Thanks, K!
The book is a collection of short stories by Yamashiro Asako, set in Edo period and connected by the protagonist who is traveling Japan’s onsens, where she hears or encounters all those mysteries. The two stories Ishida recommended are these:
“The Lapis Lazuli Illusion” – an embryo commits suicide in the womb to break its reincarnation cycle and descends into hell.
“Hell” – a person gets ambushed and imprisoned by bandits and is forced to eat human flesh to survive.
TBH Sui Ishida is now one of my number 1 inspirations as an artist. Well all know how busy the life of a mangaka is. They barely have time for themselves, especially if you are a weekly updater. Then you have Ishida Suit who goes above an fucking beyond. He doesn’t just make and write Tokyo ghoul which is full over foreshadowing, references, etc. He helped with the anime, he made all those ending cards, he made an entirely different timeline for his story, and he made that 366 day calendar for fans. Pile that with the stuff he has to deal with: He deals with the anime studio butchering his ideas. He deals with fans that give him crap for the anime and for ending the Tokyo Ghoul manga before he even had a chance to speak up about it. He also deals with/has dealt with his own personal struggles with himself and with family as you can see with what he put in the music video he was in. He deals with so much crap yet he continues to write Tokyo Ghoul. He continues to interact with fans on a very daily basis. He continues working hard and improving and holy crap I love Ishida so much he is just such a trooper and I support him 100%
