I appreciate the molded pecs and abs on the breast plates the CCG has going on there. And that Houji is posed in just such a way as to make the armor seem as male-boob-plate-y as possible on him. Like I understand the practical reason that the armor doesn’t go any lower. If Houji weren’t sticking out his ribcage just so, any more solid plate armor would start to restrict mobility and get caught on things. But I appreciate the way Sensei posed him to make it look boob-plate levels of impractical. Like damn.

Also, it doesn’t help that they herald him by shouting “It’s Houji the exterminator of the Red Tongues. Like, wow Tatara. I know you guys named it for your kagune, but I’d let Houji exterminate my red tongue any day.

This is a really good breakdown of the artwork. And I always feel like the armor is so impractical. Does it even /do/ anything, since it seems like ghouls just shred through it like nothing?

I wonder that too…they always wear it but it seems so ineffective? Arata seems to be the only effective “armor”. 

But yeah I agree. The sheer sexy impracticality of that pose is so gorgeous. Like. It’s similar to how Ishida so lovingly depicts Arima’s ass and Kaneki’s face and Juuzou’s eyelashes.
