I just realized which character Higemaru’s fanboy attitude reminded me of. And now I’m really worried, because it was Seidou.
Remember just how much Takizawa respected Amon as his senior for his outstanding abilities and determination? Well, Higemaru does respect Urie for the very same reason.
I was already worried that Hige’s strong sense of justice was a parallel to Seidou’s one, but now that the similarities intensified my bet is that that very trait will likely be the cause of his fall, just like Seidou’s.
Don’t worry, they were only introduced a few chapters ago, and everybody still has to warm up to them. I’ll try to give you a quick overview of them, I hope that’ll make it easier for you!
Touma Higemaru
(Nickname: Hige)
19 years old
His hair is pink. (Look at that smug face.)
Seems to be pretty lively and ambitious.
He was a scholarship student at the academy.
His family is wealthy and eminent, which is why he’s compared to Ui.
Since a lot of his family members are people with life-saving occupations like
firefighters, etc., he developed a strong sense of justice.
Hige seems to be on good terms with his mentors: He praises Saiko and even plays video games with her. (Also, see the face he makes on the right picture? That’s what he looks like when he’s losing.)
And he clearly admires Urie. (What’s up with those moles under his left eye?)
Jin Li Shao
(Nickname: Ginny)
19 years old
I think she has a running nose.
She’s from Taiwan and came to Japan when she was a child.
Seems to be calm and collected.
Is also very athletic and flexible.
She was one of the gifted students from the Sunlit Garden. (We still don’t know a lot about this facility, only that particularly talented children are trained there to become investigators.)
Her specialty is bare-handed combat.
In terms of talent, people compare her to Hairu.
Shinsanpei
Aura
19 years old
He looks a little scared all the time.
Seems to be soft-spoken and timid.
He’s Special Class Aura’s nephew. (Just a reminder: Kiyoko Aura is the first woman who achieved Special Class!) And they seem to have a good relationship.
Although he is said to have both experience and potential, he didn’t achieve anything noteworthy in
academy.
Urie think’s he’s and idiot and treats his accordingly.
I hope this helps! These are only short characterizations of the new Quinx based on the info we got until now (chapter 62), but we’re definitely going to find out more about those three in the future.
